- I paid for the product. I liked the scale until it suddenly died. Checked Withings support pages, and discovered this was a fairly common problem anywhere from 3 months to a couple of years. After the one-year warranty Withings support will usually offer a 25% discount on a new scale, which didn't leave any of the posters happy. A couple managed to fix theirs by opening it up and soldering in a new telephone battery they picked up on ebay. Given that the Withings Body and body+ models use 4 AAA batteries that they say last up to 2 years, those models seem to be less risky than the USB cable charged battery in the body cardio.
